What Is Somewhat Green?

At Somewhat Green, we make it easier to find eco-friendly products to help in the steps we all should take to live a greener lifestyle. We constantly research the market to find products that could be suitable for our online store.

When we find a potential product, we conduct thorough research to determine if it meets our standards. Only then do we go through the process of getting it listed.

We don't stop there, though, as we also make the delivery of the products we sell as environmentally friendly as possible. This includes using eco-friendly packaging materials.

What Does This Mean for Me?

You want to live a greener lifestyle – we're with you on that. It's not easy, though, particularly when you shop online or in a store and most of the products on sale don't quite offer the eco-friendly standards you want.

Our goal is to make it easier for you to find those products. You can then buy them securely here in our online store.

Your Products Are More Expensive – What's Up with That?

Yep, sometimes the products we sell are more expensive than alternatives you find in mainstream shops and online stores. Usually, this is because we prioritise products that are high-quality and ethical. Being manufactured or designed in New Zealand is important to us too.

Buying products made in New Zealand means fewer emissions to get the product from the factory floor to your house. As for being high-quality, we need to move away from being a throw-away society. Buying high-quality not only helps you achieve this, but it will also save you in the long run.

As for ethical, the people making the products you buy should be paid a fair wage. Sometimes that puts up the prices we have to pay.

Who's this Tracey We've Heard About?

That's me! I'm the founder, chief coffee maker, and eco-friendly packaging obsessive at Somewhat Green.

My Somewhat Green journey started in March 2019 after buying my step-grandchildren some presents. They were cheap to buy, which I initially thought was great. They were totally useless, though. A plastic cricket set that broke immediately, a useless plastic golf stick, plastic balls that were equally useless. Plastic, plastic, and more plastic, almost all of which ended up in the bin. This wasn't even single-use – it was no-use plastic.

I didn't feel so great after that realisation, so I decided to do what I could to change. From there, the idea for Somewhat Green started to develop, and here we are today – your resource for doing what you can to live a greener lifestyle.

This is not about making dramatic changes in your life. Instead, it's about becoming somewhat greener every day and every week. If we all take these small steps, the planet will be a better place.

Thanks heaps for visiting and remember to say hi on Facebook or Instagram. I’d love to hear from you.
